Virginia Tech offers a unique environment that is rich both in tradition and diverse experiential learning opportunities. While academics will play an important role in your time at Virginia Tech so will your experiences outside of the classroom.
Being a Hokie is much more than embracing maroon and orange as an acceptable match for your clothing attire and overall décor. Student life at Virginia Tech is grounded in tradition from the annual ring dance to experiencing The Skipper during a football game. Hokies live the university’s motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve), through local, national and global opportunities to serve others. Hokies also like to have fun. There are more than 700 student clubs and organizations, meaning you’re likely to find a group to join that interests you. Interested in sports? Check out recreational sports at Virginia Tech. Food on campus:
Dining Services at Virginia Tech is among the best you’ll find at any university. In fact, the food is so good that, in addition to our on-campus residents, about 6,000 off-campus students, as well as numerous faculty and staff members maintain a meal plan.
Dining Services features an award-winning programming, venues, and service. In the last five years, more than 50 colleges and businesses have visited the university’s dining facilities to see a successful university dining program in action. Don’t take our word for it though – the university ranked No. 1 for Best College Food for 2016 according to Niche.com and No. 3 for Best Campus Food in Princeton Review’s Best 380 Colleges: 2016!
However, you don’t have to stress about the anticipated “freshman 15” because Virginia Tech is also ranked No. 1 for Fittest College in America according to The Active Times.
If you’re on campus, stop by a dining center and order lobster, London broil, crepes, wraps, salad, pizza, or almost anything else you can imagine! No matter which of our award-winning dining centers you visit, we doubt you’ll be disappointed!
